How Positive Pay works:
Issued checks will be required to match:
- the account number
- the check number
- and dollar amount
All three components of the check must match exactly or the check will not get paid, unless approved by you. In addition, if the check is presented for cash at one of our offices, the service matches the payee name.
As checks are issued, you send a file of the issued checks to LANB. When checks are presented for payment at LANB, they are compared to the issued checks list. If a check is presented that does not have a match in the file, we will notify you via Online Banking where you can view an image of the exception item. LANB will either pay or return the check per your instructions.
