Los Alamos
National Bank embraced its role as a
community bank when it was founded
in 1963. For the last 44 years the
hometown bank expectation has
penetrated our strategies and our
conduct. The time is right for LANB
to lead by example when it comes to
taking bold new steps towards the
sustainability of the communities in
which we operate. One of those bold
steps is choosing to use green
energy at all office locations:

Our support and actions bear the
symbol EcoSmart. It's our expression
that shows that environmentally
responsible actions build economic
vitality and this is what EcoSmart
is all about.
LANB has set
aside $50 million for EcoSmart land
and home loans. These loans will
offer significantly lower costs to
builders and developers that embrace
the U.S. Green Building Council's
Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) concepts
and standards. We have also set
aside another $10 million in
consumer loan funds with lower
borrowing costs for the purchase and
installation of energy saving
automobiles, appliances, fixtures,
and equipment.
